Recently, in the Exam Season Consulting program organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper in Khanh Hoa, Nguyen Anh Thu 12C8 Nguyen Trai High School, Khanh Hoa asked the question: "I heard that many universities, including Thai Binh Duong University, commit to 100% of students having jobs after graduation, is this true and how specifically?".
Students of Khanh Hoa province participated in the Exam Season Consulting program of Thanh Nien Newspaper on the morning of March 17.
Dr. Le Thi Kieu Anh, Director of International Cooperation at Pacific University, said that the school has signed agreements with many businesses to accompany students, relieving their worries about finding a job after graduation.
“In addition, from the first year, the school organizes for students to meet businesses through subjects, and in the second year, business representatives co-teach some courses and are awarded business certificates. Businesses also participate in evaluating students’ theses and graduation projects and recruit them immediately if they meet the requirements,” Dr. Kieu Anh shared.
According to Master Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University), the commitment to employment for students after graduation is being focused on by schools. “Accordingly, universities, including the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Law, always connect with businesses, creating conditions for students to have jobs. Many students are recruited right after their internship. However, finding a job depends not only on the university but also on the students themselves,” said Master Tien.
Specifically on this issue, Master Tien said that students need to complete the training program on schedule or early, meet English output standards, have good skills, and adapt to the job and working environment. In addition, they need to have a progressive attitude and spirit, and be willing to learn. "Many students who meet the above factors can find jobs without the school's support," Master Tien added.
Dr. Nguyen Van Kha, Deputy Director of the Admissions and Communications Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, also affirmed: “Currently, universities have close relationships with businesses, signing cooperation agreements to ensure jobs for students. In return, students must also meet the necessary expertise and skills. Even if the school commits to jobs, if students do not complete the program, do not meet output standards, lack IT equipment, foreign languages and soft skills, it will be difficult to be recruited.”
Therefore, according to Dr. Kha, both universities and students must work together to fulfill the commitment of having a job after graduation.
