Talking to Dan Tri reporter about the incident of former lecturer of the school, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh Cong Huong, being accused of selling many scientific research articles, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien - Vice Principal of Quy Nhon University - said that when the information was circulated in the press, the school also just learned about the incident.
Up to now, Quy Nhon University and Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong have not discussed this issue.
The incident started from the reflection that Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong had scientific works and articles under the name of Ton Duc Thang University and Thu Dau Mot University at the time he was a full-time lecturer at Quy Nhon University.
Regarding the issue of academic integrity that is causing public controversy, Mr. Hien said that working at one school but cooperating with another school does not have specific regulations or management documents. Quy Nhon University also has no opinion on whether Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong's listing of other schools' names in scientific publications is right or wrong.

In terms of personnel management, the school operates under the Law on Public Employees. Accordingly, public employees are allowed to sign contracts for work with other agencies, organizations, and units that are not prohibited by law, but must complete assigned tasks and must report to and receive approval from the head of the public service unit.
Here, according to Mr. Hien, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong cooperated with another unit but did not report to the head of the school.
However, Mr. Hien mentioned in the petition to withdraw his name from the list of the Mathematics Council of the Nafosted Foundation, Mr. Huong also clearly stated that he "realized his shortcomings".
When public opinion broke out in controversy, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong - lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, member of the Mathematics Council of Nafosted Fund - submitted a request to withdraw from the council.
The Vice Principal of Quy Nhon University said that the school has never received any complaints about this issue.
In addition, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong has also resigned from the school and transferred to another unit, so the school did not inspect, evaluate or draw conclusions. In the future, if there are any related issues that need to be clarified, the school will follow the regulations to resolve and handle them.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien said that during his time working at the school, Mr. Huong completed his duties according to regulations on teaching and research.
"Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huong's research ability is very good. When working at the school, every year, Mr. Huong often asked for permission to go abroad to cooperate and teach. The school also created conditions for him to participate," said Mr. Hien.
Previously, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong shared that when he was still a full-time lecturer at Quy Nhon University, he signed a scientific research cooperation contract with Ton Duc Thang University and Thu Dau Mot University in the hope of earning more income.
According to Mr. Huong, Quy Nhon University does not have a regulation that permanent lecturers are not allowed to sign scientific research contracts with other schools. The school only requires lecturers to complete scientific research tasks within the school.
Last March, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Cong Huong transferred to work at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry.
