Established in 1974 with the mission of receiving, managing, treating, and nurturing seriously wounded and sick soldiers, the center is currently caring for and treating 56 seriously wounded and sick soldiers from Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces who participated in the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, protecting the border, performing international duties, and 1 homeless martyr's wife.

Speaking to the staff, civil servants and workers working at the Nghe An War Invalids Nursing Center, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee Phan Dinh Trac said: Showing gratitude and taking care of war invalids is the responsibility of the Party and the State, because these are living witnesses in the great wars, for the cause of national independence and unification. War invalids are old, weak and sick, so the staff and civil servants of the unit must do their best to take care of their mental and physical health in a thoughtful and careful manner. Comrade Phan Dinh Trac hopes that war invalids will overcome the physical pain caused by injuries and daily difficulties, and try to live well and healthily.
