According to Xinhua News Agency, Wang Yi outlined several key points for achieving peace, including maintaining a correct security concept; adhering to the principles of the UN Charter; respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries; abandoning the Cold War mindset and zero-sum game mindset; and opposing bloc politics and factional confrontation.

In addition, to achieve peace, it is necessary to maintain international fairness and justice; treat all countries equally regardless of size; protect the authority of the Security Council; and oppose unauthorized unilateral sanctions.

Wang Yi's speech also emphasized China's commitment to global peace and multilateralism within the UN framework.

Specifically, regarding the Gaza Strip, the Chinese Foreign Minister stated that Palestine should become a full member of the UN. He stressed the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the prevention of the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon.

With the conflict in Ukraine, the Security Council should act as a bridge to help narrow differences, support the search for common positions, protect common security and build lasting peace.

The veteran Chinese diplomat also made three proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, the first of which is to strengthen crisis awareness in reducing tensions. He called for not using weapons of mass destruction, not attacking peaceful nuclear facilities such as nuclear power plants, and not attacking civilians and civilian facilities.

Second, all parties need to strengthen their sense of responsibility in promoting peace talks and the international community needs to seize the current opportunity to build a common effort in this regard, because dialogue and negotiation are the only way out.

Finally, there is a need to raise awareness of the urgency of controlling spillover effects. Accordingly, the international community needs to strengthen cooperation in energy, finance, trade, food security and the protection of critical infrastructure such as oil and gas pipelines to jointly maintain the stability and continuity of global supply chains and industries.

On China's side, according to Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the country's stance is to promote peaceful negotiations and political solutions, while maintaining contact with all parties including Russia and Ukraine.

On the same day, during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, Mr. Wang Yi said that Beijing is ready to provide more support based on Ukraine's needs.
