CGTN TV channel quoted the announcement of the Wolong reserve management agency saying that the video of the world's only white panda was recorded through an animal camera trap inside the reserve in Sichuan province, Southwest China.
The filming time was determined to be February 2023 in a mountainous area, the white panda was accompanied by its mother - a normal panda with typical black and white fur colors.
Camera traps also captured the moment the white panda played with other pandas.
“There is only one adult white panda at present. From the available data, the animal is growing well in the natural environment, and there are no problems with its group,” said Li Sheng, a researcher at Peking University.

According to CGTN , a white panda appeared in the Wolong reserve in April 2019, but it was only a cub. At that time, the panda had white fur and red eyes. Researchers believe that this panda may have albinism.
Researchers believe the white panda is an adult and displays normal courtship behavior with other females in the group.
Staff at the Wolong reserve are trying to collect DNA samples from the white panda to learn more about the rare creature.
“ Through current investigations, experiments and testing, we are trying to find out whether there are other white pandas in this area and their current health status,” said He Tingmei, deputy executive director of the reserve.
Wolong National Nature Reserve, located 130 km from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, is the center of the Sichuan Giant Panda Reserve - a World Natural Heritage of China.
Established in 1963, Wolong is the oldest, largest and most famous panda reserve in China.
