China is Vietnam's largest export market for cameras, camcorders and components.

In the first 9 months of 2024, China was Vietnam's largest export market for cameras and camcorders, reaching more than 3.5 billion USD, an increase of 40% over the same period last year.


According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs , exports of cameras, camcorders and components in September earned more than 707 million USD, down 6.8% compared to August. In the first 9 months of the year, this item earned Vietnam more than 6.15 billion USD, up sharply by 29.6% over the same period last year.

In general, exports of cameras, camcorders and accessories in the first 9 months of 2024 to most markets increased in turnover compared to the first 9 months of 2023.

In terms of market, the three technology powerhouses China, the US and South Korea are all the largest importers of Vietnam. Specifically, China is leading with a turnover of more than 3.5 billion USD in the first 9 months of the year, a sharp increase of 40% over the same period last year.

The US ranked second with a turnover of more than 902 million USD, an increase of 29% over the same period in 2023. South Korea ranked third with more than 349 million USD, but down 8% over the same period in 2023.

According to Mordor Intelligence, the digital camera market size is expected to reach $6.83 billion by 2029.

Cameras, camcorders and components are becoming one of Vietnam's important technology industries. In the Vietnamese market, in 2023, the export of cameras, camcorders and components brought in more than 7.6 billion USD, an increase of 19.5% over the same period.

Up to now, Vietnam's export of cameras, camcorders and components has grown strongly compared to the same period last year, creating impressive growth momentum and contributing positively to the country's export turnover, demonstrating the sustainable development of Vietnam's technology industry in the international market.

To maintain their position and development potential, experts recommend that manufacturers focus on investing in improving product quality and productivity to meet the increasingly demanding demands of the international market. Technological innovation also plays an important role in creating highly competitive products and meeting the diverse needs of consumers.

According to the General Statistics Office, to promote the rapid and sustainable development of the electronics industry, it is necessary to clearly define the industry's development strategy; in which, focusing on identifying core products with breakthrough potential.
