BTO-On the morning of April 1, the Provincial Museum held the opening ceremony of the exhibition of paintings “Students with local cultural heritage” at Binh Hung Primary School (Phan Thiet City). Attending were representatives of the Departmentof Education and Training, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, departments and offices of Phan Thiet City and related units.
The exhibition took place from April 1 to 12, to introduce award-winning paintings by primary and secondary school students at schools in the province about cultural heritage submitted to the "Preserving Local Cultural Heritage" Painting Contest organized by the Provincial Museum from 2015 to 2021.
Through 48 works, from the students' perspective on cultural heritage, with the brushstrokes of school age, historical - cultural relics, architectural art, scenic spots; rituals, festivals, customs, traditional crafts... of ethnic groups were expressed by the students in a simple and innocent way.
In addition, in this exhibition, the Provincial Museum also displays documentary images of historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, archaeological sites, artifacts, antiques... typical of the province to students.
Mr. Doan Van Thuan - Director of the Provincial Museum hopes that the exhibition will be a bridge connecting students with cultural heritage, helping them easily access and recognize national cultural heritage. From there, fostering love for the homeland, national pride, arousing love, appreciation and sense of responsibility in protecting and preserving national cultural heritage.
At the same time, I hope that schools in Phan Thiet city will continue to pay attention to and organize extracurricular lessons for students to visit and study at museums and historical and cultural relics such as: Provincial Museum Exhibition House, Cham Cultural Exhibition Center, Po Sah Inư Tower Relic, Provincial Party Committee Base Relic Site... to join hands to successfully implement the coordination program between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Education and Training on "Educational activities through cultural heritage and organizing extracurricular learning to learn about local cultural heritage at museums and relics in the province" for the period 2020 - 2025 as set out.
On this occasion, the Provincial Museum awarded 10 scholarships to encourage disadvantaged students at Binh Hung Primary School to continue to strive and excel in their studies.
