From April 17-19 (March 9-11 of the lunar calendar), at the festival grounds of the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Special National Relic Site, Ninh Binh Museum organized an exhibition of images and artifacts serving the Hoa Lu Festival in 2024 with the theme "Hoa Lu Capital - Following the course of history".
The exhibition includes 361 artifacts including documents, images, diagrams, excerpts, and copies of stele inscriptions... arranged according to the following contents and topics: The process of national unification and the birth of the first legitimate state in our country: Biography, hometown and initial base of warlord Dinh Bo Linh; historical context and the division of 12 warlords; the process of national unification; Dinh Bo Linh ascending to the throne as Emperor, building an legitimate monarchy; Le Hoan and the resistance war against the Song, pacifying the Cham; The capital became Truong Yen prefecture after King Ly Thai To moved the capital to Thang Long citadel in 1010.
In the content of Hoa Lu Capital through archaeological discoveries, the exhibition introduces images and artifacts discovered through archaeological excavations from 1976 to present; scientific research works on Hoa Lu Capital; images of scientific seminars researching the topic of Hoa Lu Capital to promote the value of this special national heritage and highlight the role of Dai Co Viet State in the process of national history.
With the content of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and the gratitude of later periods, the exhibition introduces a number of worship relics related to historical figures of the Dinh-Le period, images of a number of activities inside and outside the festival to commemorate national heroes and the once glorious Hoa Lu Capital. The exhibition also introduces the unique cultural features of Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and surrounding areas in the following centuries.
Through the exhibition, the festival aims to introduce to visitors the unique cultural features of the 10th century; honor the glorious history of the nation and encourage love for the homeland, expressing the sentiment of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people towards the generations of ancestors who have contributed to building and defending the country. At the same time, it contributes to educating the historical and revolutionary traditions of the nation to the younger generation.
The new point of this year's exhibition is that Ninh Binh Museum has used the results of digitizing information data and images of artifacts, visitors can scan the QR code to find out detailed information about the artifacts. At the same time, the exhibition booth is also equipped with a screen so that visitors can access the Ninh Binh Museum's electronic information page at https://baotangtinh.ninhbinh.gov.vn to visit and learn about the artifacts on display at the Museum.
The exhibition is one of the activities of Ninh Binh Museum towards the 1,100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and Hoa Lu Festival in 2024.
