Director of ATVN Company Limited Nguyen Thanh Hung said: “Our company mainly trades in agricultural products. During the Tet holidays, the company imported more than 1,000 tons of fresh cassava from Laos through the international border gates of La Lay and Lao Bao. On the first day of Tet alone, there were two shipments imported through the two border gates. Even though it was the Lunar New Year holiday, the customs force at the border gates created favorable conditions and provided maximum support in terms of procedures for quick customs clearance.”
According to statistics from the provincial Customs Department, during the Tet holiday, authorities at Lao Bao and La Lay international border gates cleared 42 import-export declarations, worth nearly 1.56 million USD; processed 1,450 exit and entry vehicles, collecting 1.44 billion VND for the state budget.
At Lao Bao International Border Gate Customs Branch alone, the unit completed customs clearance procedures for 28 import and export shipments, with an export turnover of 917,149 thousand USD, 71 transit shipments, 1,082 vehicles entering and exiting the country safely and in accordance with regulations, and collected 1.36 billion VND for the state budget.
To ensure that businesses' goods are cleared through customs, without delays or congestion before, during and after Tet, the Provincial Customs Department has directed border customs branches to increase their forces, ensuring quick settlement of entry and exit procedures and import and export procedures for people and businesses.
Request units to immediately resolve problems arising during customs procedures for export and import goods, to avoid congestion at border gates.
