This afternoon (November 24), Ho Chi Minh City Club announced that Coach Phung Thanh Phuong has officially returned to the team, with the title of acting head coach.
Mr. Phung Thanh Phuong will temporarily lead Ho Chi Minh City Club in the next few days, first of all is the National Cup qualifying match against Binh Duong on November 28 at Thong Nhat Stadium.

The reason why Ho Chi Minh City Club has only called Coach Phung Thanh Phuong "acting head coach" is because the city team is still in the negotiation stage with coaches Park Hang Seo and Lee Yuong Jin.
Earlier, last night, Ho Chi Minh City FC announced that they wanted to invite Coach Park Hang Seo to the position of Technical Director (GDKT) of the team, Coach Lee Young Jin to be the head coach. By early this afternoon, the leadership of Ho Chi Minh City FC said that they would try to close the contract with the two Korean coaches today.

While the signatures of Coaches Park Hang Seo and Lee Young Jin have not been signed, Ho Chi Minh City FC still needs someone else to do the technical work. Therefore, Mr. Phung Thanh Phuong was appointed as the interim coach.
Coach Phung Thanh Phuong once led Saigon FC in V-League 2022. However, that was an unsuccessful season for Saigon FC, the team was relegated that season. Before that, Coach Phung Thanh Phuong had a period of working at Ho Chi Minh City Club as an assistant coach from 2014 to 2019.
