According to the report dated October 22, the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday plan was selected based on the opinions and synthesis of 16 ministries and branches. Of which, 13/13 ministries and branches agreed to the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday plan with 9 consecutive days (3 agencies did not have any opinions).

If the above plan is approved by the Prime Minister, officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers will have a holiday from December 26, 2025, to January 5, 2025 (from Saturday, January 25, to Sunday, February 2, 2025).

The option of continuous, extended holidays will help workers have time to restore their health, stimulate tourism, and promote economic growth.

For businesses, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs encourages choosing 1 of 3 options for the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday:

Option 1 is to take 1 day off at the end of the year of Giap Thin and the first 4 days of the year of At Ty.

Option 2 is to take the last 2 days off of the year of Giap Thin and the first 3 days of the year of At Ty.

The last option is to take the last 3 days off of the year of the Dragon and the first 2 days of the year of the Snake.

Regardless of the Tet holiday plan, businesses must notify employees at least 30 days in advance. Employees who work overtime or at night during this time will receive a salary of at least 300% of their normal salary.
