The Hanoi People's Committee has just submitted to the Hanoi People's Council a proposal to approve the investment policy for the project to build Tu Lien Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge (from the intersection with Nghi Tam Street to the intersection with Truong Sa Street).
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the project is implemented in Tay Ho district, Long Bien district and Dong Anh district with a total length of about 5.15 km. The starting point connects with Nghi Tam street, Tay Ho district, the end point is through the intersection with Truong Sa street, the total investment of the project is 20,171 billion VND.
The planned investment scale for site clearance of the approach road to the West Lake bridge (viaduct and parallel road) is 48 m in scale according to the planning; the approach road to the East Anh is 60 m in scale according to the planning.
Intersections on the route: Complete construction investment at intersections with Nghi Tam Street, intersections with Truong Sa Street (National Highway 5 extension).
Some planned intersections include: Intersection with TC5 axis, Bai Giua intersection, intersection with 3 TC13 axes, intersection with LK52 road (Vinh Ngoc - Xuan Canh - Dong Ngan) which are studied for investment later in other projects.
Bridge works on the route: Tu Lien main bridge over the Red River, 1 km long, 43 m wide (including cable-stayed anchorage arrangement); Duong River overpass, about 0.3 km long, 44 m wide; the current Duong left dike overpass, about 0.08 km long, 35 m wide; the West Lake, Long Bien approach bridge, about 1.4 km long, with width varying from 27.5 m - 44 m; Dong Anh approach bridge (over the planned TC13 axis) is about 0.4 km long, 35 m wide.
Tunnel project on the route: Construction of a 4-lane underpass with motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motor vehicles with a width of 24.5 m on Tu Lien road, total tunnel length of about 1.265 km, including: closed tunnel in front of the National Exhibition Center, about 0.16 km long; closed tunnel at the intersection of Truong Sa road, about 0.1 km long. Open tunnel (at both ends of the closed tunnel and connecting the two closed tunnels) is about 1.05 km long.
Synchronously build technical infrastructure system, sidewalks, lighting, traffic organization, trees, renovate and relocate underground and above-ground technical infrastructure,... ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards.
The project is divided into 4 sub-projects, including 3 land clearance projects in Tay Ho, Long Bien and Dong Anh districts and 1 investment project to build Tu Lien bridge and access roads at both ends of the bridge (from the intersection with Nghi Tam road to the intersection with Truong Sa road). The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2027.
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the goal of building Tu Lien Bridge is to improve traffic conditions across the Red River, promote the urbanization process of the area as a premise for implementing the policy of population dispersion, reducing traffic pressure in the city center and reducing the load on Chuong Duong, Long Bien, Nhat Tan, Thang Long and Vinh Tuy bridges, and at the same time gradually complete the general planning for the construction of Hanoi Capital, the planning for the development of Hanoi's transport, ensure security and defense for the Capital and develop modern urban space on both sides of the Red River.
It is expected that the proposal will be considered and approved at the special session of the Hanoi People's Council held on February 25.
