Performing world classic ballet in Vietnam

Information from the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB) on July 19 said: On the evening of August 2-3, the capital's public will enjoy the ballet "Giselle" at the Hanoi Opera House. This is one of the most classic and famous ballets in the world .

A ballet "Swan Lake"

The show is performed by artists from the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, with the support of Thanh Productions, following the success of "Swan Lake" - the first ballet performed in Vietnam with a 100% Vietnamese crew.

According to the Organizing Committee, "Giselle" is a classic ballet, bearing the historical mark of a romantic period. The work was inspired by a poem by Victor Huygo about a girl who died after an all-night party in 1841 in Paris. "Giselle" is the creative crystallization of choreographer Jean Corali and composer Adolphe Adam. Throughout the ballet is a message of love, forgiveness, and the dissolution of all human resentment and hatred.

One element that makes the play "Giselle" always create a special impression on the audience is the extremely contrasting structure of the two acts. Act one is the scene of a village in southern Germany, in the Middle Ages during the harvest season, filled with peace and joy of each citizen welcoming the festival. Giselle - an innocent, beautiful and shy girl, is chosen to be the queen of the harvest season that year. Act two, on the contrary, is the scene of the afterlife full of illusion and uncertainty after Giselle's death...

The "golden couple" in the Vietnamese ballet village, Thu Hang - Duc Hieu, will continue to play the soloist role of the play when playing Giselle and Prince Albrecht. The couple is expected to bring a new, rich breath to the play. What is special in the production "Giselle" that the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theater introduces to the public is the smooth coordination between famous and experienced Meritorious Artists, such as: Phan Luong, Nhu Quynh, Ngoc Can, Thu Hang, Duc Hieu... with the youthful strength of talented artists, such as: Lan Nhi, Khanh Bang, Lan Chi. Each artist and actor has their own personality and appeal, contributing to creating a quality, emotional work of art.

With this return of "Giselle", the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet hopes to bring the audience to the true art of classical ballet, recreating the delicate techniques of hard-nosed ballet.
