In 5 years, the Institute has researched, developed, deployed and carried out 2 topics, 1 task at the Ministry of National Defense level; 44 tasks at the Command level; 18 research topics at the Command level and 45 topics at the Institute level; organized 45 specialized seminars at the affiliated units level; 65 seminars, 35 specialized scientific seminars at the Institute level, contributing to gradually improving the scientific and technological potential and position of the unit.

In the period of 2020-2025, Research Institute 486 was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Prime Minister in 2021; the Emulation Flag by the Minister of National Defense in 2020, 2024; the Ministry of National Defense awarded the title of Comprehensive Strong Unit, Excellent Training Unit in 2022. The Party Committee of the Institute successfully completed its tasks in 2020, 2021, 2024.

Speaking at the congress, Major General Vu Huu Hanh requested that in the coming years, the Party Committee and the command of Research Institute 486 proactively overcome difficulties, promote research and application of core technologies, platform technologies, focusing on artificial intelligence technology, big data technology, blockchain technology, cloud computing technology, etc. to create a breakthrough in the application of science and technology and innovation, aiming to build the Institute into a leading unit in the Ministry of National Defense in the field of research, development, and innovation, to create strategic technology products in the field of cyber warfare, ensuring network security and digital transformation.
