Empowering the future through open infrastructure, cloud computing and artificial intelligence

On August 24 in Hanoi, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Internet Association (VIA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Open Infrastructure community (VietOpenInfra), the Vietnam Cloud Computing and Data Center Club (VNCDC) organized the OpenInfra Days 2024 event.

The OpenInfra Days 2024 event in Vietnam has the theme “Empowering the Future through Open Infrastructure, Cloud & AI”. This is a forum connecting managers, architects, principal engineers, programmers to promote the use of open source infrastructure and applications.

The OpenInfra Days event was first held in Vietnam in 2018 in response to the international OpenInfra Days event organized by the community of open technology experts in many countries around the world. Through 5 times of organization, the event attracted the community of information technology experts to create open infrastructure.

OpenInfra Days events are organized by more than 20 OpenStack communities around the world (a community of more than 110,000 individuals in 187 countries).

This is an international event, authorized by the Open Infrastructure Foundation and hosted by community groups in countries with common approval and regulations, which has had a wide influence on technology companies in recent years.

The event will feature keynote presentations and in-depth expert sharing on current trending areas: AI, Cloud, NFV, SDN, CI/CD, Machine Learning, Big Data, IoT…

In Vietnam, the application of Openstack is still growing strongly, contributing significantly to the construction of information technology infrastructure. Most of the companies applying OpenStack today are concentrated in large enterprises or operating in the field of telecommunications technology such as big tech VNPT, Viettel, FPT.

The OpenInfra Days Vietnam 2024 event continues to create a technological playground, useful for users and participants in developing products related to open infrastructure, while creating sustainable connections and bonds between users, developers, companies doing business and developing infrastructure products and software on open source platforms.

In addition, the event is also an opportunity for attendees to access the latest technology products and solutions on OpenStack, Private Cloud, virtual servers, data storage solutions and network security technology. The event is also an opportunity to connect technology investors, creating opportunities for direct exchange, knowledge sharing, cooperation and investment search.

This year's event received the participation and active support of large IT enterprises such as: VNPT IT Information Technology Company; Viettel IDC; FPT Smart Cloud (FCI - member of FPT Group); NetNam Joint Stock Company; MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation; CMC Telecom along with many exhibitors and 1,000 attendees interested in open source applications in Vietnam.

Currently, the trend of using open infrastructure for the Internet and corporate computer networks is in the development stage and is increasingly expanding due to its great and practical benefits.

The State prioritizes the promotion and development of the use of open source products in Vietnam through a system of relevant legal documents. Every year, the Ministry of Information and Communications also hosts many seminars on infrastructure development and open source software.
