BTO-On the morning of November 15, the Provincial Museum organized a summary and award ceremony for the painting contest with the theme "Preserving local cultural heritage" in 2024. This is one of the contents in the coordination program between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Education and Training on "Educational activities through cultural heritage and organizing extracurricular learning to learn about local cultural heritage at museums and relics in the whole province" for the period 2021 - 2025.
Attending were representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Education and Training, more than 400 students and teachers from schools in the province.
The 2024 painting competition with the theme "Preserving local cultural heritage" was launched from March to October 2024, for primary and secondary school students across the province. After 8 months of launching, the Organizing Committee received 836 works from 53 schools. Through evaluation and judging, 64 winning works were selected, ensuring objectivity, in line with the purpose and meaning of the competition.
At the award ceremony, Mr. Doan Van Thuan - Director of the Provincial Museum said: Compared to the last contest in 2021, the Organizing Committee received 167 paintings, including 92 paintings by primary school students and 75 paintings by secondary school students, this year the number of participating works is very impressive, showing the interest of schools and students with talent and passion for painting. The contest has created a healthy and useful playground, developing painting talent, stimulating creative thinking, and orienting students' aesthetics about cultural heritage, rituals, festivals, historical - cultural relics, scenic spots, traditional crafts of ethnic groups in the province. From there, students have a complete mindset about personality and love and respect for the precious cultural heritage of the nation.
Evaluating the quality of the paintings at the contest, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa - Head of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association of the province, Head of the Jury, said: The paintings submitted to the contest basically reflected the correct theme, content, and requirements set by the Organizing Committee. Many of the children's paintings revealed quite delicate aesthetic talent, brilliant color harmony, and unique composition. In particular, some children included in their paintings funny motifs and color blocks, full of innocent decoration, containing sincere emotions of the world of children. The children's paintings used a variety of materials such as watercolors, colored powders, wax pencils, colored pencils, or available materials such as paper, beans, rice, seashells, snail shells, sand, gravel, fabric, colored threads, etc., surprising and delighting viewers.
In addition, the ability to express figurative thinking and emotions and feelings in drawings is developed according to each age. In primary school, children's drawings are very funny, with cheerful colors, simple and unconstrained strokes without many details but full of emotions and soaring imagination. Secondary school students at this age have the ability to observe, analyze and make more mature comments, know how to look at the structure of the image to arrange the composition, many children are proficient in handling materials.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa also believes that if there is more support from the education system in the field of fine arts, gifted classes in districts, towns and cities will create conditions to help children develop their artistic talents and create strong development in the children's painting movement in the province.
As a result, in the A3 painting category for primary school, the Organizing Committee awarded the A prize to Vo Ngoc Thuy Linh (Binh Hung Primary School) with the work “Bustling Cham Festival”; the A prize for the A1 painting category went to the work “Offering Ceremony” from Binh Hung Primary School.
