On August 28, in Da Lat City (Lam Dong), the scientific and educational organization "Meeting Vietnam" awarded 155 Vallet scholarships in 2024 to students from the Central Highlands provinces and the two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan.
Attending the program were Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thai Hoc, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Pham S, Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of "Meeting Vietnam" Organization, Mr. Esperan Padonou, Director of Vallet Scholarship Fund, Mr. Do Trinh Hue, Representative Director of "Meeting Vietnam" Organization and Vallet Scholarship in Vietnam.
At the program, 125 scholarships (worth 15 million VND/scholarship) were awarded to excellent students from specialized high schools, boarding schools for ethnic minorities, high schools and students overcoming difficulties, 30 scholarships (29 million VND/scholarship) were awarded to excellent students from Da Lat University, Nha Trang University, Tay Nguyen University and students overcoming difficulties.
The total value of the 2024 Vallet scholarship award in Da Lat is more than 2.7 billion VND.
Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the organization “Meeting Vietnam” shared: “Over the past 24 years, the organization has awarded many Vallet scholarships to students in Da Lat. We hope that these scholarships will encourage and motivate students to have the conditions to study, reach higher, fly further on the path of education to serve the Fatherland of Vietnam”.
The Vallet Scholarship was established through the voluntary contribution of Mr. Odon Vallet, Doctor of Science in French Law, Professor of Religious History at Sorbonne University, Republic of France.
Despite inheriting a large fortune, Professor Odon Vallet did not use it but deposited it all in the bank and entrusted a portion to the organization "Meeting Vietnam" to award scholarships to excellent young people in Africa, Vietnam and Vietnamese students in France.
This is the 24th year that the Vallet Scholarship has been awarded in Vietnam, with the number and value of scholarships increasing. To date, more than 55,000 scholarships, worth over VND500 billion, have been awarded to students in Vietnam.
