Exciting billiards tournament held in Vietnam
In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to welcome a major world-class event, when hosting the World Cup 3-cushion billiards tournament, thereby continuing to affirm its position as a familiar destination for the international billiards community. The World Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments in 3-cushion billiards, part of the tournament system of the World Carom Billiards Federation (UMB), attracting the participation of excellent players around the world.
Notably, UMB has officially authorized HBSF to host the World Cup billiards tournament in Ho Chi Minh City for 3 consecutive years, from 2025 to 2027.
Tran Quyet Chien is the most successful Vietnamese billiard player, having won 4 World Cup carom billiards 3-cushion championships up to now.
The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Billiards World Cup will take place from May 19 to 25. Before that, two selection rounds for Vietnamese players will be held by the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF) in March and April to find outstanding representatives to participate in the tournament.
Ho Chi Minh City's home field is considered a lucky place for Vietnamese players. Nguyen Du Stadium witnessed Vietnam's 3-cushion carom billiards team win the first World Cup in history. In 2018, Tran Quyet Chien defeated Ngo Dinh Nai in the internal final, thereby winning the World Cup for the first time. This was also a major turning point, bringing Tran Quyet Chien's career to a new page and achieving great success as today.
Tran Duc Minh once created a shock with the championship of the 3-cushion billiards World Cup in Ho Chi Minh City in May 2024.
Most recently, in 2024, another Vietnamese player was crowned champion at Nguyen Du Stadium - Ho Chi Minh City. Tran Duc Minh made the world's 3-cushion carom billiards fans remember his name when he created a big surprise at the Ho Chi Minh City World Cup 2024. Passing the first qualifying rounds, Duc Minh went all the way to the final and deservedly won the championship, after defeating strong Korean player Kim Jun-tae. In 2025, Tran Duc Minh has the opportunity to defend his World Cup championship at home.
HBSF also officially announced the main sponsor for the Ho Chi Minh City World Cup for 3 consecutive years (from 2025 to 2027) is Hollywood Company. The world's top 3-cushion carom players will compete on the most advanced tables of Hollywood at the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards World Cup.
