Experience free hot air ballooning at festival in Hai Phong

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on May 11, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong city - said that from May 11 to 15, residents and tourists will be able to experience hot air balloons for free.

Accordingly, the city will organize a hot air balloon festival in 2024 with the theme "Fly to Hai Phong! Light up the heritage land", in response to the Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Festival 2024.

Participating in this performance are 26 hot air balloons and airships of various types, including three giant multi-colored level 7 hot air balloons and 17 level 1 hot air balloons along with six airships for ground decoration.

According to Ms. Mai, 30 pilots and technicians were mobilized to serve the performances and people and tourists had the opportunity to experience free hot air balloon flights at an altitude of 30-50m.

Hot air balloons and air balloons are held at locations in Hai Phong including: the front yard of the Political - Administrative Center Square in the Bac Song Cam urban area; the square of the City Opera House and Tam Ky flower garden (Tam Bac river bank).

On the opening night of the Red Flamboyant Festival on the evening of May 11, the organizers arranged about 14-16 level 1 hot air balloons and ground balloons to decorate the reception area on East-West Avenue in the Bac Song Cam urban area, to create more impression for the festival night.

The opening ceremony of the Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place on the morning of May 12 at the City Opera House Square and the funding for organizing this event will come from socialized sources.

See Hai Phong by free double-decker bus

On May 11 and 12, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of Hai Phong city and the new Thuy Nguyen administrative center by free double-decker bus.

Accordingly, the first leg (25-30 minutes) with the route from Hai Phong City Opera House - Hoang Van Thu - Dien Bien Phu - Ben Binh - Hoang Van Thu bridge roundabout - Hoang Van Thu bridge - Do Muoi street - Tran Kien - Thuy Nguyen administrative center.

Return trip (30-35 minutes) with the opposite route, from Thuy Nguyen Administrative Center - Tran Kien - Do Muoi Street - Hoang Van Thu Bridge - Nguyen Tri Phuong - Dien Bien Phu - Dinh Tien Hoang - Hai Phong City Opera House.
