TPBank introduces Apple Pay to customers

Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( TPBank ) has linked with Apple Pay, allowing Visa cardholders to use iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac to pay directly when shopping or using services instead of the bank's physical card. This is a safer, more secure and private payment method that helps customers avoid giving their payment cards to others, touching physical payment buttons or exchanging cash - and using iPhone to protect every transaction.

To use, customers simply double-tap and hold their iPhone or Apple Watch near a payment terminal to make a contactless payment. Every Apple Pay transaction is secure, authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device’s passcode, along with a dynamic one-time security code. Apple Pay is accepted at convenience stores, pharmacies, taxi companies, restaurants, cafes, retail stores, and more.

With more than 10 million customers and about 60% of TPBank app users on the iOS platform, the Apple Pay payment feature has received much attention and interest from most TPBank customers. The launch of Apple Pay perfectly meets the needs of young customers who love technology and convenience.

In addition, the uniqueness of the Apple Pay experience with TPBank is most clearly demonstrated through the convenient online card opening process. With a pre-approval system to open a card 100% online via the App, Website and at 500 LiveBank 24/7 locations across Vietnam of TPBank, without having to wait until the time to receive the physical card, customers immediately own a virtual card (debit) opened online, adding the newly opened card to Apple Pay via the TPBank application or Apple Wallet.

For customers who already have an account at TPBank, the time to open a credit card will be shortened even more. Security and privacy are top priorities for Apple Pay. When a customer uses a credit or debit card on Apple Pay, the actual card number is not stored on the device or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element, a standard chip designed to securely store payment information on electronic devices.

Setting up Apple Pay is simple. On iPhone, simply open the Wallet app, tap the plus sign (+), and follow the instructions to add a TPBank credit or debit card. Customers can also add a TPBank credit or debit card to Apple Pay from the TPBank Mobile app by selecting one of the available cards, tapping the Add Card to Apple Wallet button, and completing the operation right on the TPBank App.

Once the card is added to iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac, customers can start using Apple Pay on that device immediately. Customers will continue to receive all the rewards/accumulation points and benefits that TPBank's card offers.
