At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc said that the 2024 high school graduation exam will take place from June 26 to 29. "The working group of the Ministry of Education and Training inspected the preparation work of localities to prepare carefully, ensuring that the exam takes place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations..." - Mr. Phuc said.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2024, more than 1 million candidates nationwide will take the high school graduation exam. There are nearly 2,300 exam sites with 45,000 exam rooms nationwide. Ho Chi Minh City is one of the localities with the largest number of candidates nationwide.

2024 is the last year that 12th graders studying the 2006 General Education Program will take the high school graduation exam. Therefore, this exam will have more independent candidates than previous years, with more than 5,700 candidates.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, informed that Ho Chi Minh City has 90,062 candidates participating in the exam. Of which, there are 74,542 high school candidates, 9,735 candidates from the Continuing Education system and 5,785 independent candidates. To serve the 2024 high school graduation exam, Ho Chi Minh City organizes 162 exam sites, more than 3,800 exam rooms, more than 11,000 exam supervisors...

The leader of the Department of Education and Training of the city said that previously, Ho Chi Minh City had "rehearsed" the organization of the entrance exam for grade 10 of public high schools. To be more careful, according to Mr. Hieu, 1 week before the exam, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will have inspection teams inspect the facilities and preparations at all stages of organizing the exam, ensuring safe and smooth coordination.

Specifically, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Police to ensure security at the exam printing, transportation, and grading points, measuring and calculating to determine the shortest route, and how to transport the exam safely and quickly. At the same time, all exam printing, testing, and grading points were equipped with backup generators, implemented disease prevention measures, and ensured food hygiene and safety throughout the exam.
