This is the core task of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC C4IR) in 2025.
On the afternoon of December 22, Ho Chi Minh City leaders had a meeting with members of the management board, founding members, and members of the HCMC C4IR network.
Appreciating the role of HCMC C4IR, Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen thanked the founding members, the management board and members. "You have contributed to creating an organization that meets the development needs of the city," he said.
Sharing the same view, Ho Chi Minh City Chairman Phan Van Mai also said that the City People's Committee will pay attention to allocating sufficient resources for the center to operate well from the beginning. In return, the City also hopes that the center will quickly stabilize its team and staff to focus on implementing the proposed operational plans immediately.
“I hope that you will closely follow the center's activities, especially in the initial stages. The City People's Committee will direct departments and branches to coordinate closely, which means on the one hand accompanying and supporting the center's activities, and on the other hand receiving results from the center's activities,” Mr. Mai expected.
Presenting to the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Chairman of the HCMC C4IR Management Board, said that the center is promoting cooperation with experts from the WEF (World Economic Forum). At the same time, it is taking advantage of the knowledge and experience from the global C4IR network and partners to research and draft Policy Report No. 1. The main content focuses on how Vietnam can actively participate in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and become an important link in the global value chain.
“In 2025 alone, the center has identified nearly 20 typical activities, including the strategy of covering Ho Chi Minh City with 5G network led by Viettel Group; training 1,000 high-quality engineers in the fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductors…”, Mr. Hoan shared.
Also at the meeting with Ho Chi Minh City leaders, members of the management board, founding members and members of the HCMC C4IR network shared about cooperation orientations, initiatives and specific activities in the coming time.
Some key contents discussed include: plans to provide high-quality human resources in the field of technology and innovation; AI application in the field of air transport; research and development of semiconductors and semiconductor ecosystems; roadmap for covering the city with 5G network; issues such as promoting green, sustainable growth, green finance for the city, etc.
Previously, in nearly 3 months since its establishment (September 2024), Viet Nam C4IR has urgently built the initial foundations of facilities, human resources, operating methods and planned and oriented activities for the years.
That is the basis for the center to carry out its important mission of socio-economic development not only for Ho Chi Minh City but also in scale, stature and content serving the whole country under the close supervision and attention of the Prime Minister.
HCMC C4IR plays a very important role
