Ho Chi Minh City brings Vietnamese tea and coffee to the US to promote tourism

The program to promote and advertise Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism in the US took place on October 13, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the Department of Tourism, with 11 representatives from airlines, travel agencies and hotels.

The event was attended by 100 guests who are travel businesses in the state of California with 3 parts: Seminar introducing destinations and new tourism products of Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City, especially products suitable for the US market, introducing tourism projects that need to attract US investors to Ho Chi Minh City and B2B - direct meetings between businesses of the two countries.

Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism promotion activities in the US will continue for the next 3 years.

Guests also received publications and special gifts from tourist destinations in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City; experienced Vietnamese cuisine , enjoyed Vietnamese coffee and tea, and performed traditional musical instruments, and other interactive activities such as conical hat painting, lucky draw, etc.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said that the program has special significance as it was held right after the two countries issued a joint statement to elevate their comprehensive strategic partnership, in which tourism is one of the 10 areas identified for promotion and cooperation.

The program has the participation of leading airlines, travel businesses and hotels.

"The Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry believes that this activity not only contributes to implementing and concretizing the joint statement between the two countries but also opens up many opportunities to increase tourist traffic between the two countries in the coming time," said the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.

According to Ms. Anh Hoa, with the new visa policy, Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular always want to welcome the Vietnamese community and American tourists to experience and feel the changes of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City today.

Traditional musical instrument performance to promote tourism

Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Consul General of Vietnam in San Francisco, California, hopes that after the program, the number of American tourists to Ho Chi Minh City will increase because the city has rich cuisine that suits American tastes and is a place that still preserves traditional cultural and historical values.

It is expected that Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism promotion activities in the US will continue for the next 3 years to develop a sustainable market.

Before the Covid-19 outbreak, in 2019, Vietnam welcomed about 746,171 American visitors, of which Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 561,862. In 2022, Ho Chi Minh City will also welcome 265,047 American visitors.

According to the Department of Tourism, the US market has great growth potential, always being in the top 10 tourist markets to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in recent years .
