Chi Linh is the locality with the largest longan growing area in Hai Duong province. Up to now, the rate of longan flowering has reached over 90%.
Chi Linh City currently has 31 growing areas with an area of over 270 hectares that have been granted codes that are eligible for export to markets such as China, the United States, Thailand, and Japan. Households growing longan for export are concentrated in Ben Tam, Hoang Tan, Le Loi, Bac An, Hoang Hoa Tham wards, etc., with an average output of about 4,000 tons/year.
The longan growing area of Chi Linh city is being expanded because this crop is suitable for the land and climate conditions, bringing high economic value compared to some other crops in the area.
