Korea is a favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Vu, Deputy General Director of Viet Travel Company, on December 4, many customers called to ask for information and expressed their desire to postpone their tours if the security situation in Korea is unstable, to ensure the safety of their families. If the situation persists, flights to Korea and tourism services will certainly be interrupted, affecting the schedules of current and future tourists. In addition, the company is proactively contacting customers to provide updated information and advise on suitable options. If necessary, Viet Travel will implement support measures such as rescheduling or converting tours to other destinations such as Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asian countries.

“However, the good news from our partners in Korea is that after martial law is lifted overnight, crowded areas such as the National Assembly building may be affected, but at other tourist and shopping destinations in Seoul, all daily activities are still going on as usual. Tour programs and travel experiences for tourists are not affected. Our partners are also constantly updating the security situation at the destinations to notify the company's operations department as soon as possible, in order to promptly provide information to tourists,” Mr. Pham Anh Vu added.

Similarly, a representative of Vietluxtour said that tours to Korea this week are still taking place. Some tour schedules have been adjusted to comply with the latest regulations from Korean partners. “Many tourists experiencing Korea for the first time are quite concerned about the situation, but in general, tour programs have not been significantly affected. At the same time, the unit is constantly updating information from official channels and the Embassy to adjust the schedule if necessary, ensuring maximum safety for tourists,” the representative added.

A representative of Ben Thanh Tourist Company also said that this morning (December 4), many customers called to ask about the situation of tours to Korea, whether they were affected by political tensions or not. Some customers wanted to have alternative plans, such as postponing or canceling tours in the near future.

According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, in the past 10 months, Vietnam has welcomed more than 3.7 million Korean visitors. In contrast, from the beginning of the year to mid-October, Korea has welcomed more than 435,000 Vietnamese tourists. According to statistics from the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Korea is expected to reach 600,000 next year. Therefore, this country is actively implementing many promotional campaigns to attract more tourists.
