UN Secretary General and countries congratulate Vietnam National Day

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, the United Nations Secretary-General sent a congratulatory message and letter to the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent a congratulatory message to President Vo Van Thuong, emphasizing that the United Nations highly values Vietnam 's role and contributions to joint efforts in addressing global challenges. Mr. Guterres expressed his belief that Vietnam will continue to cooperate with the United Nations to build a better, more peaceful and prosperous future. In addition to the United Nations , Vietnam also received congratulatory messages and letters from leaders of many other countries. The King and Prime Minister of Thailand sent congratulatory messages to President Vo Van Thuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The Thai leaders highly appreciated the strategic partnership between the two countries over the past 10 years, and expressed their joy at the strong development and expansion of bilateral cooperation in all important areas. In his message, the Sultan of Brunei said he believed that the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries would continue to develop further for the common benefit, as well as for the development of a dynamic and sustainable ASEAN community . South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol also expressed his delight at the strong development of Vietnam-Korea relations in all fields after 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations. Mr. Yoon believes that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Korea will continue to bring prosperity to both countries in the coming time. In the context of celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, Governor-General of Australia David Hurley had a successful state visit to Vietnam last April. Mr. Hurley believes that the Vietnam-Australia friendship will continue to develop strongly. Sending congratulations to Vietnam from Canada, Canadian leaders assessed that after exactly 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the two countries have deepened their cooperation in various fields in recent times. Canada also highly appreciated Vietnam's contributions at multilateral forums such as APEC, ASEAN, the United Nations and La Francophonie. Leaders of Japan, the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Venezuela also sent congratulatory messages and letters to the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State. In a statement posted on the US State Department website, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken sent the best wishes of the US to the Vietnamese people on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of National Day.
