The Prime Minister thanked the United Nations for its valuable cooperation and support for Vietnam's reform and development over the past nearly 40 years. Vietnam values and supports the central role of the United Nations in global governance. At the same time, he asked the United Nations to continue supporting Vietnam in enhancing its resilience, responding to natural disasters, adapting to climate change, and energy transition. UN Secretary-General António Guterres congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements. He assessed Vietnam as a model of peace and sustainable development, a "star of ASEAN", contributing to raising the voice and role of developing countries. Mr. António Guterres also hoped to closely coordinate with Vietnam to implement important results achieved at the Future Summit and hoped that Vietnam would continue to take the lead in efforts to promote peace, stability, inclusive and sustainable development globally. In particular, the Secretary-General highly agreed with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's vision and "all-people, comprehensive" approach in solving global issues such as natural disasters, climate change, population aging, resource depletion, etc.
Australia urged to focus on developing balanced trade
On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese attended the ceremony to celebrate the first anniversary of implementing Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy 2040.

Over the past year, according to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Australia has sent 220 business delegations to Southeast Asian countries to seek investment opportunities. The country has also established a 2 billion AUD investment support fund, thanks to which the value of FDI in the region has increased by over 1 billion AUD with the effective support of 3 newly established or preparing to be established Investment Promotion Centers in Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta and Singapore. Australia has also increased 130 scholarships for the region, implemented a 22.5 million AUD Mekong Subregion Support Package and increased the visa duration for ASEAN businesses from 3 to 5 years. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy 2040, emphasizing that ASEAN's development cannot be without the positive contributions of Australia, especially of private enterprises. The Prime Minister asked Australia to pay attention to developing balanced trade, investing in infrastructure and logistics connectivity projects, and implementing cooperation in traditional fields as well as new fields such as digital economy, green economy and innovation. At the same time, he asked Australia to pay attention to expanding cooperation in education and training, labor cooperation and youth cooperation to create new breakthroughs for ASEAN-Australia economic relations in the coming years, in line with the newly established ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2021.
