(CLO) US President Donald Trump has ordered the dismissal of all remaining federal prosecutors appointed by the administration of former President Joe Biden.
Mr. Trump said that the US Department of Justice has been politicized in an unprecedented way.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Mr. Trump claimed that the Department of Justice under the Biden administration had been abused for political purposes, and to restore faith in the judicial system, he directed the termination of all federal prosecutors from the "Biden era".
“America's Golden Age must include a fair justice system – and that starts today!” he stressed.
It's common for federal prosecutors to change after each presidential term, but legal experts note that typically, a new administration will ask them to resign rather than issue an immediate firing order.
Last week, the White House sent termination notices to a series of prosecutors appointed by Mr. Biden, leading many of them to submit their resignations.
In the early days after taking office, Mr. Trump also ordered the firing of many federal prosecutors, including those involved in investigating allegations related to him, especially the investigation by special prosecutor Jack Smith into Mr. Trump's handling of classified documents and efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Before Mr. Trump returned to the White House, Jack Smith resigned.
Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi has ordered a review of previous federal prosecutions against Mr. Trump.
Democratic politicians have condemned the decision, while many legal experts have warned that mass layoffs could disrupt law enforcement operations.
