On June 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan held talks on the sidelines of the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in St. Petersburg, discussing bilateral relations.
During the talks, President Putin welcomed the relations between Russia and the UAE, affirming that the oil-rich country in the Middle East is a "very good partner" of Moscow.
For his part, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan expressed his desire to strengthen relations with Russia.
According to the UAE news agency WAM, at the meeting, the two leaders discussed the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Russia and the UAE have cooperated closely as members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners ( OPEC +).
