Accompanying the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on his State visit to Vietnam were: Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov; Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Russian Subcommittee of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technical Cooperation Dmitri Chernyshenko; Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitri Peskov; Head of Presidential Protocol Vladislav Kitaev; Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko; Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuichenko; Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov; Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit; Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivilev; along with leaders and representatives of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation; Supervisory Agency in the Field of Consumer Rights Protection and People's Welfare; Federal Guard Service, Head of the Presidential Security Service; Ministry of Defense ; Primorye Region; Kaluga Oblast; Nizhny Novgorod Oblast; Russian Direct Investment Fund; Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration; Zarubezhneft Open Joint Stock Company; Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation; Rosoboronexport Joint Stock Company; Novatek Joint Stock Company; Foreign Economic Bank of the Russian Federation; VTB Bank Joint Stock Company; Presidential Foreign Affairs Department. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad, now Saint Petersburg (Russia). In 1975, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Leningrad State University and then received a PhD in Economics. In 1975, he began working for the KGB. From 1985 to 1991, Mr. Putin worked in the German Democratic Republic. From 1991 to 1996, he held the positions of Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Saint Petersburg; Vice Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Government; Deputy Mayor of Saint Petersburg, in charge of foreign relations of the city. In 1996, he moved to Moscow, holding the position of Deputy Director of the Financial Administration Department of the President of the Russian Federation. On March 26, 1997, Mr. Putin held the position of Deputy Chief of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, then First Deputy Chief of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, in charge of local affairs. In July 1998, he held the position of Director of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB). In May 1999, Mr. Putin became Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. In August 1999, Mr. Putin held the position of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, then became Acting President of the Russian Federation in December 1999. In March 2000, Mr. Putin was elected President of the Russian Federation, then continued to be elected President of the Russian Federation for a second term in March 2004. Since May 2008, he has held the position of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. In March 2012, Mr. Putin was elected President of the Russian Federation (third term) and continued to be elected President of the Russian Federation (fourth term) in March 2018.
