On June 19, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife will pay a state visit to Vietnam from June 22 to 24.

According to Yonhap News Agency, this will be President Yoon's first visit to a Southeast Asian country. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is also expected to meet with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. In addition, a delegation of 205 large enterprises will accompany President Yoon on this trip.
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) said the delegation plans to meet with many leaders, businesses and government leaders of Vietnam to discuss cooperation in supply chains and future industries.
Before that, the South Korean President will visit France from June 20 to 21 and attend a summit with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. In addition, Mr. Yoon will attend a meeting of the General Assembly of the World Exhibition Organization (BIE), the organizer of World Expo 2030.
In December 2022, Vietnam and South Korea issued a Joint Statement upgrading their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, officially opening a new chapter in Vietnam-South Korea relations.
Korea is one of Vietnam's leading important partners, ranking first in investment, second in ODA, and third in trade. Korea is also Vietnam's second largest labor market and Vietnam is the second largest labor sending country. There are currently about 48,000 Vietnamese workers working in Korea.
