German President visits Temple of Literature, strolls around and enjoys Vietnamese coffee

At noon on January 23, right after arriving in Hanoi , starting his two-day state visit to Vietnam on January 23-24, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife visited the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam (Dong Da District, Hanoi), strolled around the streets and enjoyed Vietnamese coffee.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife were introduced to the history of the Temple of Literature by a tour guide. The Temple of Literature was built in 1070. In 1076, King Ly Nhan Tong established the Imperial Academy next to the Temple of Literature, which can be considered the first university in Vietnam. It is expected that today, January 23, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife will attend the official welcoming ceremony chaired by President Vo Van Thuong. The two leaders will then hold talks, witness the signing of a number of documents and meet the press to announce the results of the talks. In addition, the German President will also meet with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and attend a reception chaired by President Vo Van Thuong and his wife.
