The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal reported that President-elect Donald Trump added former Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh and billionaire Marc Rowan to his list of candidates for Treasury Secretary.

The first candidate is Mr. Kevin Warsh - a former investment banker. Mr. Warsh served on the FED Board of Directors from 2006-2011 and is considered an advocate of fiscal tightening, reducing public spending and increasing the savings rate.

Mr. Marc Rowan is the second candidate, co-founder and investment manager of Apollo Global Management.

Tennessee Republican Senator Bill Hagerty is running for the position. According to the Wall Street Journal , Hagerty met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort last week.

Mr. Trump has not yet named anyone to fill the position. However, Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick and investor Scott Bessent are considered the two leading candidates for the position.

The president-elect is starting to think again about Mr. Lutnick and Mr. Bessent. The New York Times reports that Mr. Trump will invite the two candidates to meet at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida this week.

Mr. Lutnick was a co-counsel for the transition of power to President-elect Donald Trump. In addition, Cantor Fitzgerald CEO has praised Mr. Trump's economic policies, including tariffs.

Bessent is a key economic adviser to Trump and a longtime hedge fund investor. He taught at Yale University and has a good relationship with the president-elect.

Billionaire Elon Musk and Health and Human Services Secretary-elect Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly expressed their support for Lutnick on November 16.

However, the President-elect's transition team has not made any comments.
