The results of the special prosecutor's investigation report on President Biden are available.

Special prosecutor Robert Hur, who is in charge of investigating the 82-year-old Biden's removal of classified documents in 2017, said he would oppose criminal charges against the US leader after a 15-month investigation.

The reason no charges were needed was because President Biden cooperated with the investigation.

"Mr. Biden will likely present himself to a grand jury as an elderly, sympathetic, kind man with a poor memory," Reuters quoted Mr. Hur, who was assigned by Attorney General Merrick Garland to lead the investigation into Mr. Biden in January 2023.

What did Mr. Biden say about being judged to have a 'poor memory'?

President Biden himself has also shown himself to differ from Donald Trump on issues such as personal ethics and national security.

At an event in Virginia on February 8, Mr. Biden emphasized that he cooperated with the investigation and returned classified documents, completely different from Mr. Trump in the case of hiding classified documents at a resort in Florida and being recovered by FBI agents in August 2022.

In response to the conclusions of special prosecutor Hur, former President Trump called it evidence of a "two-faced" legal system, unconstitutionally selective. Mr. Trump is facing a criminal trial over the classified documents, which could take place in the US election year of 2024.

Memory problems

Special counsel Hur also wrote in the report that President Biden's memory was "severely limited" during his interactions with members of the investigative team.

For example, Mr. Biden does not remember the year he began his term as vice president under President Obama, nor the year it ended. The leader also does not remember the year his son Beau died. He has no memory of the debate over U.S. policy in Afghanistan.

White House counsel Richard Sauber called Mr. Hur's report about the comments inaccurate and inappropriate.

Meanwhile, US House Speaker Mike Johnson said that Mr. Biden is no longer suitable to serve as US President, based on the special prosecutor's recently released report.
