The working delegation of the two Hong Kong unions was led by Mr. Willly Lin, Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Hong Kong, Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipbuilding Council, Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong Textile Council and CEO of Milo Woolen Company.

At the meeting, the delegation expressed their desire to come to Vietnam to seek cooperation and investment opportunities in the fields of production and logistics.

Two Hong Kong trade unions in the textile and logistics sectors hope that the Consulate General will help arrange programs, connect partners and exchange information in preparation for a visit to Vietnam by two large business delegations with the participation of the Hong Kong government around September and October this year.

Consul General Pham Binh Dam shared that in the first 6 months of 2023, the Consulate General successfully arranged two large business delegations from Hong Kong to visit Vietnam to seek investment and business opportunities (including the Government and Business Delegation led by Hong Kong Secretary for Economic Development and Trade Algernon Yau and Chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Johnathan Choi, in January 2023 and the Business Delegation led by Chairman of the Federation of Industries Sunny Chai, in June 2023).

Consul General Pham Binh Dam affirmed that the Consulate General will continue to support and arrange programs to connect the two business delegations to Vietnam this time with government agencies, localities and potential partners.

The Consul General believes that members of the two associations should coordinate and complement each other, aiming to form a complete supply chain in Vietnam from downstream to upstream.

The delegation members agreed and shared the opinions of Consul General Pham Binh Dam; said that the enterprises in the delegation are all enterprises with long-term business strategies, focusing on quality, technology and environmental friendliness; at the same time, they will discuss internally to find the best solutions to connect and complement each other according to the opinion of the Consul General.
