Attending the program were comrades: Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Hung, Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the General Department of Defense Industry; Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of the General Department of Defense Industry.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the entire General Department will implement 4 programs, projects, and science and technology projects at the national and Ministry of National Defense levels and independent topics at all levels with a total of 186 topics and tasks. The science and technology topics and tasks have been actively implemented, basically meeting the set progress and quality, of which 41 topics and tasks have been evaluated and accepted; 23 topics have completed their objectives and research content, and are completing documents for acceptance at all levels according to regulations. Among the accepted topics, 36 topics and tasks are eligible to be proposed for mass production of "O" and serve production (87.8%)...
The work of ensuring technical and technological standards for defense production has been well implemented. The General Department focuses on researching and proposing measures to improve the quality of defense products; reviewing, researching, revising, supplementing, perfecting, and issuing sets of design documents and technological documents to fully and promptly meet the tasks of defense production; and thoroughly resolving technical and technological problems in defense production. In addition, the work of standards, measurement, quality, and organization of product acceptance must be well implemented to ensure progress and quality.
In 2022, units in the General Department of Defense Industry implemented 1,484 initiatives that were put into production, estimated to generate a profit of about 35 billion VND. The General Department organized the acceptance assessment of 6 investment tasks to upgrade the units' laboratories and deployed 1 new task in 2023. Along with that, it organized 4 exhibitions of products produced by the defense industry at summary conferences and celebrations; especially, it successfully participated in organizing the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2022, which was highly appreciated by the head of the Ministry of Defense.
In 2022, the movement to participate in the Creative Youth Award in the Army of the General Department of Defense Industry was maintained and promoted. The General Department had 42 projects selected to participate in the 23rd Creative Youth Award in the Army and won 2 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 9 consolation prizes.
The General Department of Defense Industry is the leading unit in the entire army with many projects winning the Army Creative Youth Award. In 2022, there were 23 projects winning the award, an increase of 9.5% compared to 2021 and an increase of 27.7% compared to the average of the past 5 years.
At the program, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Title of Professional - Technical - Vocational Officer in the 2022 Major Rank; awarded rewards for scientific research work, technical innovation initiatives in 2022 and honored the authors who won the 23rd Creative Youth Award in the Army.
