The People's Committee of Hai Duong province has just changed the purpose of use of 69,403 m2 of land in Gia Loc district and Hai Duong city, including land for rice cultivation, perennial crops, traffic land, and irrigation land that has been recovered by these two localities, and completed compensation, support, and site clearance.

Of this area, the Provincial People's Committee leased 68,309 m2 of land to the National Power Transmission Corporation to build the Gia Loc 220 kV transformer station and connecting lines in Gia Xuyen commune (Hai Duong city), Gia Khanh, Gia Tan, Hoang Dieu communes (Gia Loc). The land lease term is 50 years, and annual land rent must be paid according to regulations.

The remaining area is assigned to the People's Committees of Gia Khanh, Gia Tan and Gia Xuyen communes for management.

The Gia Loc 220 kV transformer station project and the connecting line in Gia Khanh commune were approved by the National Power Transmission Corporation. The project includes 2 transformers of 250 MVA/unit, a 220 kV line with 4 circuits, nearly 5.3 km long, with a total investment of over 494 billion VND. The project is being focused on construction and installation, expected to be completed in February 2025.

The construction of the 220 kV Gia Loc transformer station is consistent with the power development plan of Hai Duong province for the period 2016-2025 with a vision to 2035. Once operational, the project will meet the growing demand for electricity load in the province and neighboring areas; ensuring the goal of improving the reliability of power supply.
