Specifically, EVNSPC has implemented the direction of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the request of the Southern Power System Dispatch Center (A2), as well as EVNSPC's power supply plans to its affiliated units to prepare safe and stable power sources for the Lunar New Year. In addition, it has increased power supply in border and island areas, coordinated the operation of rooftop solar power sources, and allocated available power sources and power compensation sources.

Improve power supply reliability

Power companies (units) in 21 southern provinces and cities continue to strengthen inspections of vulnerable locations, areas with lots of trees, densely populated areas, construction sites, and entertainment areas that are likely to fire flares or drop tinsel to find appropriate solutions to minimize power grid incidents.

Along with that, it is necessary to check and prepare enough spare materials to handle incidents quickly and promptly; units should develop plans to provide safe and continuous electricity for socio -economic development and people's daily life; prepare well the electricity supply plans for Tet 2024. At the same time, shorten the time to restore electricity and equipment after incidents and coordinate the relocation of the power grid to serve the Southern Expressway.

On this occasion, EVNSPC also promptly energized newly built power projects to increase load capacity, ensure safety, accuracy and timely load exploitation for optimal grid operation during Tet holidays. EVNSPC is also coordinating and working with A2 on the operation of EVNSPC's power grid during Tet holidays to ensure the safety and continuity of the power system.

Do not let fire or explosion occur in the electrical system.

In the work of fire prevention and fighting safety before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2024, EVNSPC directed units to focus on inspection and organize immediate correction of existing problems and defects on the unsafe power grid, which pose a risk of short circuits causing fire and explosion incidents.

Coordinate with local authorities and media agencies to disseminate and popularize safe and economical electricity usage measures to customers; disseminate and strictly handle cases of shooting metal-coated paper fireworks, flying kites and throwing objects onto power lines, violating the safety corridor of the power grid.

Maintain conditions to ensure occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting at production sites, construction sites, and factories; consolidate and maintain a permanent, protective regime, increase patrols and guards, especially at night and outside working hours (including those of leaders), to promptly detect and handle incidents and fires as soon as they arise.

Strengthen inspection and warnings about electrical safety in areas with construction sites, Tet trading areas, festival areas, entertainment areas, markets... to prevent power grid failures and electrical accidents for people.

Nearly 15,000 shifts ensure electricity for Tet

EVNSPC has deployed task assignments, established and organized enhanced duty schedules, leadership duty schedules, operational duty schedules and incident handling with more than 15,000 shifts from February 8, 2024 to February 14, 2024 (from the 28th of Tet to the 5th of Tet Giap Thin). The customer care center always has a team of telephone operators working 24/7 during Tet, ready to receive and process information related to power supply, incident reporting and other services in the power supply management area.

During the Lunar New Year, the high demand for electricity will cause problems, the power grid system will lose balance between supply and demand. When overloaded, the Customer Care Center will mobilize, call for support staff, mobilize to receive and answer questions and needs of customers. In addition, direct affiliated units to maintain, repair, and upgrade the information technology system to serve 24/7.

At provincial power companies, the unit arranges leaders and employees at duty points, entertainment areas, and local festival venues, regularly on duty 24/7 in the management area. Currently, EVNSPC has completed a special digital transformation program in customer service, meeting customer requirements during the Tet holidays.

With the goal of not having to stop or reduce power supply, causing power outages to customers, except in cases of force majeure, 21 Southern power units are ready to ensure the task of providing safe and stable power to serve people and customers during the spring and New Year.
