General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong warmly congratulated President Putin on being re-elected by the Russian people as President of the Russian Federation for the 2024-2030 term with a record number of votes in the modern history of the Russian Federation. This demonstrates the Russian people's trust and support for President Putin in leading Russia to develop in the new period.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong also sent his regards and condolences to President Putin, the Russian people and relatives of the victims of the terrorist attack in Moscow on the evening of March 22.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that Vietnam appreciates the great assistance of the Russian Federation in the former Soviet Union as well as today for the country and people of Vietnam.

The General Secretary emphasized that Vietnam identifies the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Russian Federation as one of the top priorities in its foreign policy.

President Putin respectfully thanked General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for his congratulations and the timely condolences of the Party, State and people of Vietnam over the losses of the Russian people in the terrorist attack on March 22.

The President affirmed that Vietnam is always a friend and reliable partner of the Russian Federation. President Putin expressed his delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations in all areas.

The two leaders discussed and agreed on a number of major orientations to promote bilateral cooperation in the coming time in areas such as security-defense, economy-trade, culture, tourism, etc.

On this occasion, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong respectfully invited President Putin to pay an official visit to Vietnam soon. President Putin happily accepted the invitation and agreed that the two sides would coordinate to arrange a suitable time.
