On the occasion of October 20 this year, the Women's Union of Minh Khai Ward, Phu Ly City organized the "Charming Ao Dai through photos" contest on the association's fanpage. Many members who are cadres, civil servants, and public employees working at the ward's agencies, and members living in the area participated in the contest. The posted photos were liked, shared, and praised by many friends and Facebook users. In traditional Ao Dai, regardless of age, all women are graceful and gentle.
Ms. Do Thi Phuong, President of the Women's Union of Minh Khai Ward, shared: After 2 weeks of launching the contest, 71 photos were received from 71 women, in which the oldest contestant was 75 years old. Many of the contest photos are of high artistic quality, showing the contestants' creativity in choosing colors, costume styles, and shooting angles to honor the graceful beauty of women in ao dai. Through the contest photos, it shows the fairness and serious investment of the contestants. The shooting backgrounds are quite diverse, at private homes, offices, units, associated with tourist attractions, historical and cultural relics. Many photos exude the simple, rustic beauty but no less luxurious and elegant of women. Ms. Phuong also affirmed: The contest has an important meaning, aiming to spread and honor the beauty of women in traditional ao dai. At the same time, it arouses pride and responsibility to preserve and develop the cultural heritage of ao dai of the nation. Through talking with Ms. Phuong, we learned that women in the ward also often wear Ao Dai on holidays and important events, especially March 8 and October 20.
Also on October 20 this year, for the first time, Phu Ly B High School organized an Ao Dai performance with the theme "Ao Dai Festival" for students. The program attracted 47 female students from 3 grades 10, 11, 12 to attend and 47 male students to participate in the performance. The Ao Dai performance was truly a festival for the entire school. Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thu, Principal of Phu Ly B High School, said: The traditional Ao Dai has long been the costume worn by female teachers and students on important occasions such as the opening and closing ceremonies, or competitions, etc. at school. By organizing this year's "Ao Dai Festival", the school hopes to have a new, attractive, and meaningful activity, thereby spreading the beauty of traditional costumes, spreading the love for Ao Dai, and spreading the beauty of Vietnamese women.
In early 2023, on the occasion of International Women's Day, March 8, the Provincial Women's Union also organized a week to honor Ao Dai. The week received enthusiastic response from all grassroots associations and a large number of women. In the celebration activities from the province to the grassroots, women all wore Ao Dai. Many grassroots associations organized parades for women in Ao Dai. During the week to honor Ao Dai, female union officials from the province to the grassroots wore Ao Dai when going to work. The Provincial Women's Union also organized a program to show off Ao Dai and perform folk dances in Ao Dai at the space of Phu Ly City Walking Street with the participation of a large number of female members throughout the province.
The beauty of the Vietnamese Ao Dai has been affirmed and recognized by both domestic and international people. Ao Dai is increasingly appearing in life. In almost all important events such as holidays, Tet, anniversaries, preliminary and final conferences, etc., women wear Ao Dai. At home, on occasions such as weddings, engagements, Tet, birthdays, longevity celebrations for the elderly, etc., Ao Dai is always chosen to be worn. Many women take souvenir photos, meet and exchange with groups and also wear Ao Dai.
The soft and flowing ao dai enhances the graceful, feminine but also extremely luxurious beauty of Vietnamese women.
