(NLDO) – Tran Phu Street in Hoi An is one of the 71 most beautiful streets in the world. Spring is coming, this street seems to be even more splendid.
In May 2024, the prestigious architectural magazine Architectural Digest (USA) announced a list of 71 most beautiful streets in the world. Of which, Tran Phu Street in Hoi An Ancient Town, Quang Nam Province ranked 45th. This is also the only street in Vietnam to make the list of the most beautiful streets in the world.
Topping the list is Colmar in France. Other places in the Top 5 are Brienz in Switzerland, Setenil de las Bodegas in Spain, Águeda in Portugal and Brooklyn in New York.
According to the famous architectural publication, Hoi An was once a very prosperous and bustling trading port, especially during the period from the 15th to the 19th century. This place is chosen by many tourists to visit for many reasons, but mostly because they want to see with their own eyes the monthly lantern festival held on Tran Phu Street.
Tran Phu Street is always an attractive destination for tourists. As the Lunar New Year approaches, this street becomes more colorful than ever as tourists from all over flock here, creating a lively and colorful picture.
The gentle golden sunlight falls on the old town, shining on the ancient houses with bright red tiled roofs. Thousands of colorful lanterns are hung along the road, creating a shimmering, magical space. In the midst of that ancient scene, visitors from all over stand out with their traditional ao dai and colorful costumes.
Young people enjoy posing next to antique bicycles and shimmering yellow walls. Couples stroll lovingly along the stone-paved streets, capturing memorable moments together. Families take souvenir photos next to giant lanterns.
The Tet atmosphere fills the streets, the cheerful laughter and melodious music blend together, creating a colorful symphony. The scent of flowers, incense, banh chung and banh tet blend together, bringing a warm, familiar feeling.
Tran Phu Street is not just a street, but also a living museum, where traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese people are preserved. On this street, there are many famous relics such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Guangdong Assembly Hall, the Fujian Assembly Hall, the Quan Cong Temple, the Ngu Bang Assembly Hall, the Hainan Assembly Hall, etc.
Every time Tet comes, this street becomes more meaningful as it is a place where people and different cultures converge. Tran Phu Street is also the place where many festivals, cultural and religious activities take place, receiving the support of a large community of local people and tourists...
