On the morning of February 18, 2025, the Thanh Hoa Union of Science and Technology Associations (Union) coordinated with relevant departments and branches to organize a ceremony to honor the title of outstanding science and technology (S&T) intellectuals in 2024.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Pham Ngoc Linh, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; comrades of the Provincial Standing Committee: Dao Xuan Yen, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; comrade Le Duc Giang, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Science and Technology Council; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, agencies and branches.

According to the report of the Union of Associations, by August 15, 2024, the standing body of the Selection Council had received nominations of 81 outstanding scientific and technological intellectuals who were eligible for honor according to regulations; of which, intellectuals who were authors and project managers of projects that won the Third Prize of the National Technical Innovation Contest, the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award or higher had 4 people; intellectuals who were authors and project managers of projects and solutions that won the First Prize of the Thanh Hoa Technical Innovation Contest had 1 person; intellectuals who received the Nguyen Duc Canh Award had 7 people; intellectuals who received the Luong Dinh Cua Award had 7 people; intellectuals who were project managers of provincial-level scientific and technological projects or equivalent or higher that were accepted as excellent, from 2019 to May 2024 had 60 people; intellectuals with outstanding achievements in gathering, uniting and promoting the creativity of the scientific and technological intellectual team had 2 people.

Based on the study of records and documents and after a period of urgent, serious and proper work, 100% of the members of the Council for selecting the title of outstanding intellectuals of science and technology of Thanh Hoa province in 2024 voted unanimously, selecting 10 outstanding intellectuals of science and technology to propose the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to consider recognizing and honoring the "Title of outstanding intellectuals of science and technology of Thanh Hoa province in 2024". On December 11, 2024, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 4889/QD-UBND on recognizing the title of outstanding intellectuals of science and technology of Thanh Hoa province in 2024.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations Pham Ngoc Linh and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang highly appreciated the Thanh Hoa Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations and related departments and branches for successfully organizing two honoring ceremonies in recent years. Through honoring outstanding S&T intellectuals to encourage, motivate and inspire the team of S&T intellectuals to participate in scientific research, technology development, and dissemination of S&T knowledge, contributing to the development of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations into a strong organization.

At the same time, it affirmed that the team of science and technology intellectuals in Thanh Hoa province is considered strong, with many scientists participating and winning high awards for innovation at the central and local levels; recognizing and highly appreciating the contributions of the team of science and technology intellectuals in the province to the overall development of the province.
The comrades emphasized: Departments, branches and sectors in the province must pay more attention and create more favorable conditions for the team of science and technology intellectuals, with the core being the Association, to conduct research and develop technology, apply it to life, promote innovation activities, and contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, especially Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress with the goal of Vietnam becoming a developed country by 2045.

The activities to honor outstanding scientific and technological intellectuals will continue to be organized with more lively activities, expanding the scope of intellectuals to be selected, thereby honoring many intellectuals who are shining examples in labor, scientific and technological creativity, with many achievements in research and development of technological innovation, contributing to the overall development of Thanh Hoa province.
At the ceremony, 10 outstanding science and technology intellectuals in 2024 were honored and received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
