Overview of the Launching Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign

The Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is an activity of special significance. 60 years ago, the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union launched the “Three Readies” movement with the following contents: Ready to fight; ready to join the armed forces; ready to go anywhere, do anything the Fatherland needs.

The performance shows the creativity and enthusiasm of Vietnamese youth.

25 years ago, the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam chose 2000 as the "Year of Vietnamese Youth" and accordingly, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign was officially formed.

This is the first milestone, marking a historical journey with volunteer summers of young people across the country. From here, the hands and minds of millions of young volunteers have made an important contribution to the construction and development of the Fatherland.

Each traditional flag has a distinctive color, representing a volunteer force of the country's youth.

This year's Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign aims to promote the spirit of volunteerism and initiative of union members and young people in participating in socio-economic development, solving issues of public concern; building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; ensuring social security, national defense and security, especially in difficult areas, remote areas, border areas, islands, ethnic and religious areas.

Representatives of the Central Youth Union and related units presented gifts and scholarships to children in difficult circumstances within the framework of the Campaign's launch ceremony.

The campaign will be organized widely in the spirit of efficiency, safety, and sustainability associated with the political tasks and practical needs of each locality and unit, creating a positive social mark.

Young people enthusiastically participated in the run in response to the program "Steps for the community" right after the ceremony.

Volunteer activities will be carefully prepared in terms of both content and organization, promoting depth in the professional fields and strengths of young people.

Young doctors volunteer to examine and give free medicine to local people.

Within the framework of the Campaign, Youth Union chapters at all levels across the country will focus on organizing on-site volunteer activities, connecting self-established volunteer organizations, attracting a large number of union members, youth and social forces to participate.

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign identifies 11 specific targets. Notably, it is necessary to organize 10 million youth union members to participate in volunteer activities organized by the Youth Union and Association; build at least 1,000 new charity houses, gratitude houses, red scarf houses, and boarding houses; plant at least 8 million new trees...

The launching ceremony of the Central Campaign took place on the morning of May 26 in Thuy Nguyen district (Hai Phong city), connecting directly with points in Tuyen Quang, Dak Lak and Hau Giang.

In addition, response activities will also take place simultaneously in 3 villages, hamlets and villages selected by the Central Youth Union to support the construction of the model "Worth living village" according to the criteria of advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.

Outstanding member Pham Thi Thanh took the oath when she was honored to join the Party right at the Campaign Launch Ceremony. It is known that Ms. Thanh works at a company with 100% foreign investment.
