Reporting on the preparation for organizing events, the leader of Vinh Linh district said that the district has been coordinating with provincial departments, branches and sectors to advise the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to work with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Nhan Dan Newspaper to request support for some activities.
Accordingly, the district coordinated with Nhan Dan Television - Nhan Dan Newspaper to organize the political art program "Parallel 17 - Aspiration for peace"; coordinated with the Contemporary Music and Dance Theater - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prepare to organize the special art program "Vinh Linh - Heroic Motherland"; coordinated with the Department of Cultural Heritage - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to design and display artifacts of the district's Traditional Room; coordinated with the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to produce the documentary film "Vinh Linh Epic Song"; coordinated with the provincial Radio and Television Station to produce the 3-episode film "Vinh Linh - 70 years of fighting, building and developing", continued to publish the column "Vinh Linh Memories", ran trailers and promoted information and propaganda work.
In addition, coordinate with Nhan Dan Newspaper to create a photo series about 70 years of traditional pride, coordinate with Quang Tri Newspaper to prepare a special issue; at the same time, coordinate with press agencies to continue running trailers and promote information and propaganda work.
In coordination with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications organized an online contest "Learning about the land, people and traditions of Vinh Linh", preparing to organize the scientific seminar "Vinh Linh - Heroic traditions, aspirations for development".
As planned, the program to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh tradition and receive the Second-class Independence Medal (2nd time), the title of district meeting new rural standards will be held on the evening of August 25, 2024 at the district's Central Cultural House. Vinh Linh district proposed the province to allow the district to organize it in the form of a traditional festival, supporting some contents related to the reception of guests.
Within the framework of the commemorative activities, there will be events: political art program "Parallel 17 - Aspiration for Peace"; launching, groundbreaking, inauguration, putting up signs and putting some works into operation; renovating and embellishing some cemeteries, organizing gratitude activities, contests to learn about the land and people of Vinh Linh; scientific seminars, cultural, artistic and sports activities...
Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang acknowledged that Vinh Linh district had developed a plan to organize a solemn festival with rich and meaningful content. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee basically agreed with the framework of the district's organization program.
Regarding specific contents, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council said that the locality should not concentrate on organizing many events at one time but should balance and arrange them reasonably to ensure effectiveness. He requested the Provincial People's Committee and related sectors to support and create favorable conditions for Vinh Linh district to organize favorable programs.
For the political art program "17th Parallel - Desire for Peace", the program content must highlight the contributions of the army and people of Vinh Linh in particular and Quang Tri in general in the political struggle to demand the implementation of the Geneva Agreement and the unification of the two regions of the country.
Documentaries about Vinh Linh must highlight the value and identity of the land and people of Vinh Linh, the miracles and feats of the local army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Strengthen propaganda work on the heritage of the Vinh Moc tunnel village system associated with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Con Co island district and the 60th anniversary of the Con Co armed forces.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism should coordinate with the locality to organize the Tung Luat rowing competition and the Vinh Hoang story-telling competition to attract the participation of a large number of people and honor the traditional folk cultural values of the local people.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized that, along with organizing well the series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh's tradition, the district needs to pay more attention to the lives of local people, especially those in mountainous communes with many difficulties, support the construction of solid houses for poor households, take care of families with preferential policies and people with meritorious services to the revolution. At the same time, it is necessary to complete the procedures to receive the title of new rural district at the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh's tradition.
