Quang Tri Province and Mukdahan Province Sign Cooperation Plan for 2025

This morning, August 5, in Dong Ha City, the Signing Ceremony of the Cooperation Plan between Quang Tri Province and Mukdahan Province (Thailand) for the period 2025 - 2030 took place. Governor of Mukdahan Province Vorayan Bunarat; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors of the two provinces attended.

Promoting potential and similar strengths to enhance cooperation

In his welcoming speech, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung stated that Quang Tri and Mukdahan provinces signed a cooperation document in January 2005 to promote regional connectivity beyond the national border on the East-West Economic Corridor. Since then, the two localities have had exchanges and cooperation, bringing many benefits and development to each side.

The visit and working session of the Mukdahan provincial delegation in Quang Tri this time further strengthened the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, which is developing well in all fields, and the two sides are actively promoting the Action Program to implement the enhanced strategic partnership for the period 2022 - 2027.

Providing an overview of the local socio-economic development and infrastructure investment, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung affirmed that Quang Tri and Mukdahan have many similarities in culture, natural conditions, and potentials and advantages in natural resources and human resources. The two provinces are located on the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and are one of the five economic corridors in the Greater Mekong Subregion. This is a favorable condition for the two provinces to continue to strengthen effective cooperation in all appropriate fields.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Governor of Mukdahan Province Vorayan Bunarat congratulated the great achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Tri Province have achieved in recent times. At the same time, he highly appreciated the results in the cooperation relationship between the two provinces over the past 19 years, believing in the continuous development of this special friendship between Quang Tri and Mukdahan provinces in the coming time.

Through this visit and working session, Mukdahan province hopes to visit and learn about important economic establishments and tourist attractions of Quang Tri province in particular and Vietnam in general; sign cooperation plans in many fields through similar strengths and potentials between Mukdahan and Quang Tri provinces.

Unify cooperation in an effective manner

At the signing ceremony, delegates from the two localities focused on discussing key tasks, solutions and specific commitments to promote more effective implementation of cooperation in all fields in the coming time.

Accordingly, Quang Tri province and Mukdahan agreed to sign a cooperation plan for the period 2025 - 2030 in the fields of: economy, investment, trade and tourism; training, labor and human resource development; communication and promotion.

Notably, in economic, investment, trade and tourism cooperation, the two provinces will support and provide information, introduce opportunities, and create favorable conditions for businesses of each side to learn, access and research information about potential and investment opportunities in each province.

In particular, priority will be given to cooperation in the fields of high-tech agriculture; seafood processing; encouraging cooperation in tourism, passenger and cargo transport; unifying the direction of the trade and tourism sectors of the two provinces through joint tours and tourist routes between the two localities...

Regarding cooperation in training, labor and human resource development, the two sides will create conditions for universities and colleges of the two provinces to implement cooperation contents, grant scholarships to students; organize high-quality vocational training, exchange labor force, first of all in the field of tourism...

Regarding communication and promotion activities, Quang Tri and Mukdahan continue to coordinate in organizing and actively participating in events of both sides and provinces on the East-West Economic Corridor; media agencies need to regularly exchange and cooperate in creating video clips, reports, and documentaries introducing the land, people, scenic spots, and historical and cultural relics of each side...
