XINHUA. China successfully launched the CERES-1 Y9 carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, sending two new satellites, Tianyan-16 and Xingchi-1-A, into planned orbits.
YONHAP. North Korea has closed its embassies in Senegal and Guinea, a South Korean foreign ministry official said, in an apparent move to cut spending amid economic hardship.
TEMPO. The 12th ASEAN Labor Review Conference with the theme "Protecting Migrant Workers through Human Resources Monitoring" took place from December 5-6 at the Nusa Dua resort in Bali, Indonesia.
ANTARA. Hundreds of Indonesian rescuers are searching for 10 people missing after the Marapi volcano on Sumatra island erupted, killing 13 people earlier.
IRNA. Iran has access to $6 billion worth of assets unfrozen by South Korea in Qatari banks and can use them to meet domestic needs, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani.
REUTERS. The situation in the Gaza Strip is "deteriorating by the hour" as Israel continues to bomb the vicinity of Khan Yunis and Rafah, according to the WHO representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, Richard Peeperkorn.

SPUTNIK. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian signed a declaration of action against sanctions.
ANADOLU. Turkey and Qatar signed 12 agreements and issued a joint statement after the 9th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Committee chaired by President Recep Erdogan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamom bin Hamad Al Thani.

FRANCE 24. The French National Assembly has backed a proposal to ban disposable e-cigarettes , which are seen as "leading" young people to smoking and damaging the environment.
BBC. The UK government has announced a series of measures to reduce the number of migrant workers, which are at record highs - a key issue in next year's general election campaign.
GUARDIAN. Britain and Rwanda have signed a new migration pact that will revive London's controversial plan to send migrants to the East African country.
ENR. The EU wants negotiated solutions amid the growing trade deficit between EU countries and China, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said.
REUTERS. The European Commission has approved a 1.2 billion euro ($1.3 billion) funding package for a European cloud computing project aimed at encouraging European companies to enter a sector dominated by US rivals.

SVT. Sweden and the United States sign a Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA), allowing the United States access to Swedish military bases and the ability to store weapons in Sweden.

NBC NEWS. The US Department of Defense said the State Department approved the sale of a $582 million reconnaissance aircraft modernization system to Saudi Arabia.
CNN. US officials said at least eight employees at the Altivia chemical plant in La Porte, the largest city in Texas, were hospitalized after they were suspected of being exposed to gas.
G1. The Brazilian Ministry of Defense has decided to deploy 20 armored vehicles to the border with Venezuela amid the escalating territorial dispute between Venezuela and Guyana.
TELE SUR. Argentina will not participate in the signing of the FTA between the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) and the EU, according to Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero, because of the negative impact on industry and agricultural exports.
AP. The Colombian government and the National Liberation Army (ELN) armed group began a fifth round of peace talks in Mexico City, aimed at ending six decades of conflict.
AFP. Latin America and the Caribbean need to spend 4.9% of the region's GDP on programs and action plans to meet climate goals, according to a report by the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL).
