Sources said on June 13 that Dutch military intelligence had warned the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) about Ukraine's plan to blow up the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipeline system.

NOS radio reported that the CIA later urged Kiev not to carry out the plan. NOS asserted: “The CIA brought Ukraine to its attention after receiving information from the Dutch military intelligence service, which learned of the plan through a Ukrainian source.”
The information was released after the Washington Post newspaper revealed that the CIA was warned about Ukraine's plans by a European intelligence agency.
Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren declined to comment on the information. Speaking at a press conference, Ms. Ollongren said: "I cannot say anything about the work of intelligence agencies."
The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, built to transport gas from Russia to Germany, were hit by underwater explosions last September.
The Netherlands is one of the countries involved in this system along with Russia, France and Germany. Many accusations have been made against Russia, the US or Ukraine, but all have been denied.
Earlier this month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again denied Kiev’s involvement. However, according to NOS, the plan involved General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the commander of the operation, along with a group of divers using a sailboat, without President Zelensky’s knowledge.
