Proposal to handle encroachment and dumping around metro station No. 1
On December 16, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said it is preparing to organize bus routes connecting with metro line 1 at Van Thanh Park and Tan Cang stations.
However, recently, around these stations, there have been many cases of traders encroaching, parking, and dumping garbage, causing disorder and loss of beauty.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport requested the People's Committee of Binh Thanh District to support increased propaganda and thoroughly handle acts of occupying parking lots for trading, parking, garbage collection, and storing household items.
At the same time, direct units and functional forces not to use bus stops and parking lots as garbage transfer and trash collection sites during the collection process.
Infectious diseases increase, Ministry of Health recommends strengthening epidemic prevention
On December 16, the Department of Preventive Medicine , Ministry of Health sent a document to the health departments of provinces and cities on the prevention of infectious diseases in winter and spring. Some infectious diseases that have recently recorded a local increase in the number of cases are measles, whooping cough and rabies due to the favorable climate for the spread of infectious diseases, especially diseases transmitted through the respiratory tract.

Prioritize investment in upgrading 6 hospitals to international standards
On December 16, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1576 approving the plan to implement the healthcare network planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
According to the plan, priority will be given to upgrading 6 hospitals to international standards, including Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Hue Central Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital, 108 Central Military Hospital, and 175 Military Hospital.
At the same time, prioritize investment in building the Central Highlands Hospital; the National Coordination Center for Human Organ Transplantation in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
In the field of preventive medicine and public health, priority is given to investing in the construction of the Central Center for Disease Control and investing in the construction of 3 regional disease control centers.
In the field of population and reproductive health, priority will be given to investing in the construction of 2 prenatal and newborn screening and diagnosis centers in Thai Nguyen and Dak Lak; investing in upgrading 6 prenatal and newborn screening and diagnosis centers in Hanoi, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
Amending regulations on the authority of environmental police
On December 16, the Government issued Decree No. 157/2024 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 105/2015 detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Environmental Police Ordinance.
Accordingly, Decree No. 157/2024 amends and supplements Clause 3, Article 6 of Decree No. 105/2015 on the authority to request agencies, organizations, enterprises, and individuals to provide information, documents, and objects; request explanations of acts showing signs of crime and administrative violations of the environment, resources, and food safety.
According to the new regulations, this is the authority of the Director of the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control; provincial police director; head of the police department investigating crimes of corruption, economy, smuggling, and environment of provincial police; and district police chief.
At the same time, Decree No. 157/2024 also amends and supplements Clause 2, Article 7 of Decree No. 105/2015 on the authority to issue decisions to inspect compliance with laws on environment, resources, and food safety.
The Director of the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control; the director of the provincial police; the head of the police department investigating crimes related to corruption, economics, smuggling, and the environment of the provincial police; and the head of the district police have the authority to issue decisions to inspect compliance with laws on environment, resources, and food safety.
In addition, Decree No. 157/2024 also amends Clause 2, Article 8 of Decree No. 105/2015 on the authority to issue decisions to inspect vehicles, objects, and locations related to crimes and administrative violations of the environment, resources, and food safety.
This is the authority of the Director of the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control; provincial police director; head of the police department investigating crimes of corruption, economy, smuggling, and environment of provincial police; and district police chief.
The above regulation takes effect from December 20, 2024.
