Banana export prices to China increase again
On March 13, many export businesses said that banana exports have increased again and fluctuated around 10,000 - 12,000 VND/kg.
Mr. Vo Quan Huy - Chairman of Huy Long An Company Limited (FOHLA) specializing in exporting bananas to China, Japan, and South Korea - said that before Tet, the price of bananas exported to the billion-people market was about 2,500 - 3,000 VND/kg, but now it is 10,000 - 12,000 VND/kg.
"Other markets have stable prices, but in China prices have increased 5-6 times. I sell about 20 containers a week," said Mr. Huy.
Another banana export factory owner in Dong Nai province exports 8 containers per week. Because export prices have increased, this company buys good quality bananas at 10,000 - 11,000 VND/kg.
Explaining the reason, Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association - said that in China, the domestic supply of bananas has run out, the time when banana consumption is strongest is during the hot summer, and banana prices have continuously increased again in recent days.
According to Mr. Nguyen, bananas are in the top 10 major export items to China. It is forecasted that in 2024, banana exports will reach about 310 - 312 million USD, of which the Chinese market alone will reach about 200 million USD.

Assign Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to deploy investment in Bien Hoa airport project
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed document 175 on March 13 to invest in Bien Hoa airport under the PPP method.
The Deputy Prime Minister agreed to assign the People's Committee of Dong Nai province as the competent authority to implement the project investment under the public-private partnership model as proposed by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the Ministry of Transport and the opinion of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
At the same time, request the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant agencies to coordinate and support Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee in the project implementation process.
According to the Ministry of Transport, recently, a number of localities have reported and been assigned by the Prime Minister as the competent authority to invest in new airports under the public-private partnership model, such as Van Don International Airport, Quang Tri Airport, and Sa Pa Airport.
Of which, Van Don airport has been put into operation since 2018; Quang Tri airport has selected investors and is implementing. Sa Pa airport is organizing the selection of investors. According to the planning for the development of the airport system, airports 2021 - 2030, vision 2050, Bien Hoa airport is one of the airports planned to be a domestic airport serving dual-use exploitation in the period 2021 - 2030.
Bien Hoa Airport is located in Tan Phong ward, the center of Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province; conveniently located, near large residential areas, about 25km from Tan Son Nhat international airport; about 32km from Long Thanh international airport.
Ho Chi Minh City: Hospital overloaded due to project delays

The hospital has tried to take advantage of empty spaces in the campus to set up clinics, patient rooms, and add more beds for examination and treatment.
The hospital also organizes midday medical examinations, extending the examination time from 6:30 to 18:30 every day; implementing medical examinations on Saturday and Sunday mornings in all departments and rooms, but the scale of the hospital has been reduced by nearly half compared to before, it is necessary to speed up the construction progress of the inpatient treatment area, hand over the project soon, and serve medical examination and treatment.
