On January 16, Mr. Pham Van Boi (49 years old, residing in Ba To district, Quang Ngai) said that he found a wallet containing 14 million VND that he had lost. With the money that people donated to help him, he returned it to help those in need.

People's love for the man who lost his wallet

After a month of picking coffee for hire in Lam Ha district, Lam Dong, Mr. Boi and his wife saved more than 14 million VND and returned home to celebrate Tet.

For this H're man, 14 million VND is a huge amount of money. He thought he would have a warm Tet, but on January 14, when Mr. Boi went to the Ba To district market to buy daily necessities, he discovered that his wallet was missing.

Mr. Boi was shocked when he accidentally dropped the money that his wife and he had worked so hard for. He hurriedly went around the market to look for it but couldn't find it.

The image of a miserable man wandering around the market like a lost soul moved the traders to pity.

Ms. Le Thi My Trang (a trader at Ba To market) posted information on social media, hoping the community would join hands to find Mr. Boi's wallet.

"Even though people reassured me at that time, I couldn't calm down, I was very sad," Mr. Boi honestly said.

Ms. Trang said: "Seeing Mr. Boi so miserable, everyone asked if they saw his wallet, I felt sorry. So we called on everyone to support him, to help him as much as we could."

Everyone's kindness helped Mr. Boi get nearly 12 million VND, somewhat comforting the poor man's heart.

"That money should be given to children and the elderly in difficult circumstances to celebrate Tet."

The story spread, two days later, the person who found the wallet knew about it and went to Ba To market, asking the vendors to contact and return it to Mr. Boi.

Upon receiving the information, Mr. Boi returned to the market to receive the wallet. "Up to now, I have not met the person who found it. I am very grateful, thank you very much. In a few days, I will return to the market to find and thank the person who found my wallet," Mr. Boi said incoherently.

The story does not end there. Despite being poor, when he received his wallet back, Mr. Boi immediately returned nearly 12 million VND that people donated to him. This surprised and touched everyone. Everyone advised Mr. Boi to accept the money to make Tet more cozy. Mr. Boi firmly refused.

"I found my money, why should I accept money from my relatives? I think that money should be given to children and the elderly who are in more difficult circumstances than me to celebrate Tet, I will not accept it," Mr. Boi confided.

Ms. Trang commented that although Mr. Boi was poor, his heart was so kind. People in the market suddenly had great joy because of the kindness they showed to each other.

When asked if Mr. Boi had bought anything for Tet, he honestly said he had not bought anything. Near Tet, he would buy a pot of flowers to put in front of the house and buy some cakes and meat to create a Tet atmosphere.

"During Tet, my family bought very little. Money is hard to come by, so I'm very frugal. My wife told me to buy some clothes for my grandchildren tomorrow," Mr. Boi said.
